Shop the Drop: Sourced in Morocco

At k+co LIVING, interior design sourcing is one of our signatures.

Every project we design is shaped by travel, exposure, and an eye for nuance and detail. Each space has special styling pieces that are one of a kind and influenced by our travels.

Over the past year, I visited artisans in their places of origin immersing in their materials, process, and culture. From the Philippines to Morocco, each destination has informed our new Moroccan curation.

These are pieces with provenance crafted from materials native to the land, carrying the story of the hands that made them.

Travel with us. Meet the makers. Experience our latest container drop featuring one-of-a-kind pieces from Morocco.

Stop 1: The Philippines

I had the rare privilege of traveling to Manila and Cebu as an industry expert, invited to experience firsthand the depth and beauty of the Philippines’ home and design landscape. This extraordinary journey was sponsored by the First Lady, Liza Araneta Marcos, and thoughtfully curated with the guidance of renowned interior designer Jonathan Mattia.

It offered an immersive look into the country’s culture, heritage, and remarkable craftsmanship.

From exploring indigenous materials to meeting the artisans behind them, every moment was rich with inspiration, connection, and discovery. Take a look at a few of my favorite visits:

Philippines

Liktang Filipino

I loved visiting this initiative created by the First Lady, Liza Araneta Marcos to provide exposure to Filipino makers. Opening the exhibit was a chair show by the many makers throughout the country. I especially favored these:

Philux

Not to be missed was Philux Manufacturing. Like a Crate and Barrel of the Philippines, the clean aesthetic showcases beautiful wood products with a midcentury vibe. The founders were trained in the USA in Industrial Design and came back to continue the furniture making legacy of their family.

Noteworthy, Philux uses bespoke materials from indigenous resources like shagreen and shell. Plus it is one of the physically cleanest factories I have ever visited!

Furniture Trade Show

We lucked out with our timing aligning with the Philippines Furniture Trade Show. Besides seeing beautiful, natural product that felt new and original, we ran across one of our favorite US vendors, the Phillips Collection. Of particular interest throughout the rest of the show were incredible rattan pieces, natural lighting and wall panels.

On to Cebu

Fully a manufacturing city with a resort beach coast, I felt like a kid in a candy shop in Cebu. Here we watched the process, learned about the materials and saw some of the most fabulous lighting and indoor/out woven furniture ever.

Stop 2: Moving to Morocco

I really could move to Morocco. A nomad culture, last years visit to Morocco is still a highlight in my sweet memory bank. Our container finally arrived (let’s not discuss tariffs and water traffic). Have fun shopping my one of a kind curated collection.

Our team is committed to creating elevated, cozy modern, city to coast designs where materials mix, layers live and color pops purposefully.
